LVCT Training Institute continues to expand its curriculum to meet critical needs in our society with the launch of a new Basic Mental Health course. This five-day, in-person program is designed for individuals seeking to make a positive impact on mental wellness in their communities and workplaces.
Mental health is a vital component of overall health, yet resources and knowledge are often limited. This course directly addresses that need. Participants will gain practical tools to raise awareness, identify common mental health conditions, and provide initial support. The training also covers crucial guidance on how and when to make referrals to professional care providers.
The curriculum is built for applicability, ensuring that community health workers, teachers, HR professionals, team leaders, and anyone with a passion for helping others can leave with actionable skills. The course fosters a supportive learning environment where participants can engage openly with the material.
“We see a growing need for foundational mental health knowledge across all sectors,” said a lead facilitator for the program. “This course empowers people to become first responders for mental wellness, helping to break down stigma and build a more supportive environment for everyone.”
The new Basic Mental Health course is available at our Nairobi campus, with plans to offer it in Kisumu and Mombasa. Flexible payment options are available. For more details on the next intake dates and to enroll, visit our website or contact our admissions office.
